Want to reduce fuel subsidy? Fix internal leakage first.

The truth of the matter is, that we cannot continue to live on fuel subsidy all our lives. However, recent fuel subsidy removal warning strike some uneasiness in me. The main reason for this because the country cannot afford to fork out the subsidy in lieu of Country Development. And we know for a fact (from recent Audit exposure) that the price the government pay are far more than what it is worth. A screwdriver cost 10x its price, these are tax payers money going down the drain and yet, little or no substantials action being taken. Instead, money for development are being taunted from other quarters, fuel subsidy for one.

Who suffers? The average Joe of course. The dominoes effect will strangle Joe’s purse to the brink of starvation, while the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. There are billions to be saved from fixing the internal leakage. Come up system to ensure the government are not over charged. Have an efficiency programs to ensure no wastage. These measures are more meaningful and will bring the country closer to the year 2020. If the country can safe billions for future development, why do they need to remove subsidy? Unless, there is no absolute way, then remove away, but for now, there are other means.

The new proposal sounds so right, the rich pays, the poor enjoy. As great as this sounds, will it work? Even the current Diesel subsidy system are taunted with abuse, now and again we keep seeing news of deserving people not getting their share, while the undeserving enjoys or abuse the perks. Nevertheless, the brutal truth is, life is getting tougher. Not only in this country, its all over the world. We are too dependent on fossil fuel, till our very livelihood are affected by it. The present government are not to be blame for the fuel price hike. They can’t help that. But what they can help is innovatively reduce the people’s burden, and bluntly removal of fuel subsidy is just not the best way to do it…

On this day..

As we view it, life is such. Government continues to paint a rosy picture of the economy. Eventually, the rosy picture will turn into a nightmare. Time to stop the “Malaysian Boleh” attitude and share the pain across the nation by permitting more transparency across the country. Work with logistics companies; local govt consortiums to lessen the pain.

The whole country is corrupted to it’s core and the only way the Rakyat can change is to VOTE AGAINST BN.

Good Luck!
