Imagine, using fingerprint to safeguard your cellphone, well, its not too hard now with Altrua Technologie’s Intelligent Touch Controls. This new technology targets the handheld market segments and not only provide security but also acts as an user interface to the device. Users could control menus, scroll pages and even control games, all with one finger.
The technology is a combination of sensor technology and software enabling. The sensor will ense the ridges of the finger, including valleys and bumps and through two major sets of algorithm, either authenticate the user or provide the user with control over the device. The technology was annouced on May 15 and ATW200 model is now avialable.
This technology could provide handheld users an interface that rivals the Ipod touchpad. It would be interesting to see who uses this technology in their products first.
