I have spoken

Today is an anxious day. I have been waiting for this day for two years. I was in no hurry, as I have waited for two years, and a few hours wouldn’t kill me. Woke up early because could not sleep well, checked the net for last minute news and head out for breakfast. On the way, we pass the voting station and saw quite a number of people already at the BN and Keadilan tent as well as the entrance to the polling station. We didn’t want to queue nor crowd and so, lepak at the coffee shop till lunch time and went for a nice duck rice at Pekaka. After filling the stomach, it is time to fill the ballot papers. We headed back to Pematang Damar Laut to cast our vote.

Right at the polling station entrance was the Keadilan tent. BN tent was spotted more than 100 meters down the road. Got our voting room checked out and the malay dude say in hokkien “Nor lui bak chiu”, meaning ‘two eyes’ and I said yes yes and headed to the polling room. There were police here and there, not that many, and not many people as well. It was 1.30pm after all and scorching hot. There were 6 class rooms all together and ours were the second last. Arriving there we had to queue a little as there were a couple of people infront of us.

On the left there were two ladies, one checking the name, call out the name and registration number and mark on the side. The other gave out the ballot papers. On the far left was a guy, not sure what he was doing, seams like there were heap of papers on his table, and on the near right were two guys. They marks out the name when the lady calls out the name and number. I took my time and mark on the appropiate box, and drop them into the state an parliment box. And that was it, we headed home and enjoy a nice cooling drink and bath and wait for the result to be tabulated tonight.

On this day..
