Mental Health, is one of the most important aspect of life, even more than the physical health. It is the mental our mental state that determine how healthy our overall body can be. mhCHAT.org is a free chat service provider that provide chat room hosting to depression support groups and for Phobia chats. The services are provided free and use advertising revenue to pay for the web host. Apart from Free Chat hosting for support groups, the site also host Forums and Web Radio. I have not seen any other services out there that cater for this kind of need. This is truly innovative. Recent chat rooms had bad publicity where unscrupulous people have used it to commit crime, worst despicable crimes. mhCHAT on the other hand have used the chat rooms on the positive site, where it is a tool of therapy for people with phobias or depression. With the support group structures that exist today, it is translated into the online chat rooms, where people help each other out. This reminds me of a Japanese true story Movie named ‘Train Man‘, where a young and reserve lad work up the courage to court the girls of his dreams with the help of his online chat room friends. mhCHAT is the perfect platform for generating such success stories.

There are some room for improvements, firstly, on the design and layout. As this is a free service site, there are not much money to invest into beautifying the site. However, there are aspiring web designers out there that may volunteer time to work on the site. Apart from beautifying the site, a clear and easy structure to look for existing support group to join is another enhancement. If I am new to the site, I would like to find a support group that fits me, and the navigation in the existing site design pose a challenge. In addition, getting support group to share on their success story is a great way to market the service. People who have used the services and benefited from it will passionately promote the site. These are some improvements that will attract more users.
