Being excited and all, I woke up extremely early. I had to be in the office by 8.30am and I didn’t want to be late for the first day. When I arrive in the lobby, I was surprise to find a familiar face. Another colleague from my previous company also joining here for the first day. There was 4 that join the same day with me. At 8.30am, Kelly from HR came and brought us into a small Interview room and brief us about the company policy. Then off we were to make our badge and car sticker. Within an hour, we were done. The orientation program is postponed till when there are more new employees joined. All of us were left in the Interview room while Kelly went to find our boss one by one. There were a few uncomfortable silences, small chit chats. My boss was the first to appear, she came bearing my name tag for my cubicle. Everything was already setup and I was made welcome. First thing she gave to me was a book on the product physics, which is as huge as the telephone book. I was to dwell in these stuff for the rest of the day. She introduced me to a few people, where I have difficulty to keep track on who is who and what they do… Being old, there is only a limit to the memory space in the head. Nevertheless, I tried my best to remember all. At the end of the first day, I kind of miss the old company a little, being from knowing everyone and everything to knowing no one and knowing nothing about the product nor the process, it was not a comfortable feeling. It just means I have extra work these few weeks to brush up.

Ah.. those first days are memorable. I’ve only had 10 such times. Meeting new faces. Being nervous during lunchtime to see who will go out with you etc..Well I know there’ll be none anymore because I’ve gone full time blogging.
