Citibank ahead of Local Banks

I was going through my bills last night and came across Maxis and Streamyx. Both has individual attractive offer in them. Starting with Maxis, for maxis customers only, a free Adidas backpack plus 2 year annual fee waiver when one Citibank credit card is approved. If two Citibank credit card is approved, a Black and Decker cordless screwdriver plus 2 years annual fee waived will be given free. And if you are a Maxis One Club member, you will enjoy an additional year of annual fee waived. Wow, what a generous offer, I proclaim myself.

Then when I pop open the Streamyx bill, out came another offer. This time, the free gift is a choice between a 64mb thumb drive or a Trolley and Duffle bag set. It also came with a 2 years annual fee waived offer and along with the following benefits. (Maxis offer also have the same benefits)

I remember a few years ago, Citibank was at every shopping malls haggering people to apply their credit card. Some of my friends were part of that workforce. Now all the other local banks has mimic that model and can be found at the local Tesco competing among each others. Now looks like Citibank has a new marketing model, soliciting Telco customers, and maybe more that I don�t know of. Nevertheless, Citibank has manage to step ahead of the local banks again, and we can start to expect more of these kinds of offer in the near future, and from other banks too. I think I will just take up the Citibank-Maxis offer� looks attractive�
