Four Hundred Ringgit Glamour Phone

China Iphone from Kew L. Ang on Vimeo.

My short shoot on the four hundred ringgit glamour phone I just bought. Poor shoot quality prevent me from going further, especially on dwelling into the operating system and how it looks inside. I recently found out that this phone was called ciphone and you can find tons of video about it in youtube. This was supposedly the best copy of the real thing. I have some qualms on this phone and will share them later.

Fung Shui Believe it or not?

When it comes to Fung Shui, its a matter of faith. Its either you believe it or not. However, I do notice some strange phenomena at my own home. In one my rented home previously, a certain sleeping location will cause me to have nightmares. And if it is not nightmares, it will be a heavy draining dreams. When I wake up, I felt ever more exhausted before going to sleep. I experimented then by sleeping different locations, and found that only one particular spot will give me constant nightmare every night. Moving forward to today, I witness this phenomena again in my new home. I have just shifted my bed a few nights ago, and since then, I have been having interesting dreams nightly. Not nightmares, but very interesting, exciting and sometimes funny dreams. Not a single night was spared. Lets monitor this for a few nights more, if it continue to be like this, then it is time to shift the bed again.. Fung Shui, believe it or not?

Sunrise & Wedding

Its a long weekend holiday, with the King’s B’day fall on Saturday, Monday was the replacement holiday. This was not a typical Saturday, amazingly, Maylin and me woke up at 5am hungry. We decided to go for McDonalds B’fast and watch the Sunrise. Arriving at GreenLane McDonalds 24hr outlet, the place was buzzing with youngsters, mostly students, and none looked a year older than TV3, except for me and Maylin..hehe.. We got our Sausage Egg McMuffin and headed to the Pulau Jerejak Jetty to view the Sunrise. However, that place is not publicly accessible during the night, and we ended up going to Queensbay Roundabout and park there for the break of dawn. The weather was not that permitting, there were clouds and also, Pulau Jerejak blocked the red globe. Queensbay was not a good choice, best place to watch the sunrise, is at e-gate area. There you can view the sunrise without any island obstruction. You can also hike Bukit Jambul to watch the sun rise, at 6am, we were more interested at the B’fast than the Sunrise, and so, no hill hiking for us. At 6.30am, we headed back, having witness a cloudy sunrise.

The thing about waking up so early is that, by 9am, I was already tired, and wanted to hit the bed. However, today is Tee Bin wedding luncheon in Ipoh, and so 9am was when we depart for Taiping to pick my parents up. The wedding was cozy and many old friends attended. It was like a mini-reunion for our school friends. There were also a couple of surprises, met a few of my office friends there who have linkages to the bride and groom, bringing to life the 6 degrees of separation theory. The food was great, and the luncheon ended a little late. We got back to Taiping at 5.30pm, by then, I was already bump. Congratulations to Tee Bin & Wei F’rn.

Chinese New Year Flu

When Chinese New Year comes, there are 2 things that I looked forward to, Mandarin oranges and Bak Kua. And this combination usually lands me with flu, and this is what I don’t look forward to and catch yearly. As the we progress to the third month of the year, I have been sick twice already since Jan 1st. Looking at this trend, one could only predict that the third month would bring sickness as well. Not looking forward to it…

Shanghai Ding @ Queensbay Bayan Lepas

Shanghai Ding, the house of Dumpling, is located next to the Queensbay Mall of Penang. This restaurant offers shanghai styled dim sums at a large price. The food selections are of any regular Dim Sum’s shop, and the food quality is average. The restaurant servers the famed “Siau Loong Pau” (dumpling) of Shanghai and offers them in meat, scallops and Crab. We ordered the Scallop dumpling and I did not find it that tasty and could not comprehend the fame. The restaurant also serve non-Dim Sum items like friend noodles, etc. Overall, the restaurant is slightly above average for its cleanliness, service. Average on food quality. And two thumbs down for the price.
