A Calm Day After The Political Tsunami

This morning was particularly sunny and was a great day for outdoor adventures. I woke up at 8am despite the fact that I slept at 2am monitoring the events unfolding on the political arena. This day shall go down in history where the incumbent government have lost and lost big. After getting abreast with all the stories on the web, we headed out for breakfast or rather brunch at 10am. It was unusually quiet on the streets. Very little cars seen and I’ve notice some of the election banners have been taken down. It was very sunny, and a great weather to spend the day outdoors. When we hit Pulau Tikus, the traffic was a little heavier, but still not as much buzz like a regular Sunday. I commented that maybe everyone stayed up late last night and stayed in bed, even my mum stayed up till 1am glued to the TV back in Taiping. The customers at Coffee Bean Pulau Tikus were at their regular strength, and everyone are talking about the electoral result. Even Mat Salleh patrons were also talking about the change with their Malaysian Friends, saying it is time for a change.

We left the Bean for QueensBay Mall at 12.20pm and the traffic at this time starts to build up. By the time we left there at 3pm, the mall were virtually packed, but it didn’t seam to have that many customers like a regular Sunday where the Mall was usually packed without any space to breath. Penang in general was calm, everyone heed their new leaders in keeping calm and did not had any victory parade. Maybe many were afraid to come out, or too tired to come out from last night fiasco. Nevertheless, it was a nice beautiful morning in Penang, and business is as usual.

On this day..
