All the weeks of preparation and anxiety boils down to today. What I expect to be an extremely busy day turns out to be quite un-eventful. I woke up at 6 and immediately I sent out the goodbye mail. I was surprise to receive quite a number of feedback at this hour. This goes to show that some of colleagues are hard at work… which is good, keep the efforts up and the stock rolling. Mornings were filled with backing up the mail archive, after that I head to return the laptop and was back to my office by noon. There was some last minute packing, dumping all the junk in my office into my huge bag. One last lunch with colleagues and boss was nice to cancel his Penang trip to join the lunch. After lunch, there was practically nothing much to be done. Signed some documents saying that I will not disclose the Company Secrets and pass it to the boss. By 4.30pm, I head out the doors, return the badge and bid farewell to the company. It was nice to find out that my goodbye mail triggered interest in hiring me. I wanted to have a breath of fresh air, if not, I would not have left. Anyway, when the day ends, it concludes 10 years of service to the company, of which many memories firmly fused into my mundane mind. Tomorrow is a whole new day…
Today is the 3rd last day of work with the present company. It has been 10 years since and there has been a lot, a lot of memories. As the last day draws closer, I keep having the feeling of attachment and didn’t want to leave, then again, the excitement of the new job quickly diminish the reluctance away. Though it has been 10 years, I could still remember the day when I came for a walk-in interview in Kulim. I was all dressed up in a suit. The hiring manager took me to a conference room and I notice, I am the only one dressed up. People must have thought I was a customer or out of my mind. This is a company that Jeans and T-shirt is a norm by the way. I have moved around in the company a few times, and have moved cubicles double that. Finally, after 10 years, I will be leaving the company from the same doors I walked in. I just find that interesting, since there are over 10 buildings the company has, I will be walking out from the same ones I walked in 10 years ago. Goodbye Intel, goodbye colleagues, good times shall stay forever fresh in my mind.. Cheers..
In recent weeks, the blog has been loading at a snail pace, reminiscing back to the days of dial up. I have tested the site with multiple speed test services and all return the site to be broken, or rather time out big time. I wonder if it is because of the huge blog size. My other blog sites, like my photoblog or mycity were fine. I have upgraded to the latest wordpress version and did not notice any significant change. I wonder if it is because of my host moving me to this new server. Maybe my site design is too heavy, and I think it is time for a new design, I am looking for a new inspiration and this time, something light weight, to speed up loading.
If I open a photo gallery here in Penang, would you come? I have this concept, that I would like to praticalize it. A photo gallery studio, depicting works of local amatuers or semi-professional photographers work. Penang, as a small city, is not lack of art, but not enough. There are not enough art gallery, not enough plays, not enough of everything, art. If I can, I would like to contribute into the development of Penang Arts arena. Photography is my forte in contributing into this development. Over the long holiday weekend, I have the opportunity to put some ideas down into paper. I would like to explore these ideas in hopes in the near future, I could open a gallery, of where everyone can come and enjoy the beautiful works of local “artist”.

A not that new Indie Rock band recently made headlines by landing a gig in the “Project Kami” TV series. The deal was one of the best thing that happen to the band, giving them unprecedented airtime to their music. “Lagu Untuk Mu”, the above song had stuck in my head for weeks, it even accompany me to Japan’s Imperial Palace. It took me a couple of days to shake it off in Japan. You can check them out through the Project Kami Album, together with all other Malaysian’s Underground Band.
