Magic gone with Major Bookstore Chains

img_8679-small.JPG

The price war certainly have put a challenge to the Major Bookstore chains in Malaysia. The ban of selling the book in a way is punishing the fans. If it is not about making money, and it is purely protest, I dont believe it achieves it’s objective either. For thousand of fans where their city do not have Carrefour nor Tesco, where are they going to get the book, if not Popular, Times or MPH? Nevertheless, the magic is gone, and the damage is done. I was also amused by some calling Tesco to stick to groceries, and leave the book business alone, more to more that Popular also sells food at their bookshops. Not really groceries, but there are chocolets and candies at the counter. And bookshops too sell music. I don’t hear the major Music Chain stores asking the bookshops to keep away from music? Truly amusing. It was a challenge to the bookstores, and the reply to this challenge was immature, resulting to thousands of disappointed fans.
