Cell Phone Ring Tone beat Coldplay new track on British Charts

Crazy Frog

LONDON — A track based on a cell phone ring tone famed for its ability to infuriate listeners topped Britain’s singles charts ysterday, beating the new track from Coldplay to the No. 1 spot.

“Crazy Frog Axel F,” inspired by a ring tone based on a 1980s movie theme accentuated with the sound of a man imitating frogs by making the sound of revving mo-peds, was the highest-selling single in the list compiled by The Official UK Charts Company. The chart takes into account sales of CD singles and downloads.

Wow, from a ringtone to a chart hit. So, you do not need to sing your hearts out at the Idol shows, just create a ringtone and Bam!, you can knock superstars like Oasis off and beat Coldplay to the no.1 spot. How cool is that…

Grant Stott of “The Scotsman” newspaper wrote Friday:

“For those who are unaware of this craze … let me briefly explain. This is a little ringtone consisting of someone’s voice pitched up to Pinky and Perky-esque proportions which you are encouraged to download on to your phone for just a couple of quid, so that every time someone calls you, this little naked green thing does his business and everyone in the vicinity of your phone will instantly know what a moron you really are. I can’t think of anything more horrific … How can something so annoying actually make you think: ‘Hang on, I might buy that?’”

Customizing your Nike

Nikeid.com

The new era of online retail has begun. Consumers now can customize their own products online and with a little premium prize, they can stand out from the crowd. Nike now allows their customers to customize the shoe to their liking interms of color, design and logo. This new range can be accessed at Nikeid.com. This has been Dell retail model for quite some time, where consumers can customize the type of PC component that best fit their needs. This has been adopted by Nike to provide consumers the power or ability to have something of brand in this case Nike that they can call their own. If this model is successful, before long, every successful brands will start to adopt and a new future of retail is born.

On another hand, having so many knock offs at this part of the world, the custom Nike that you proudly call your own might be mistaken to be a knock off as the colors and design defers from the ones sitting in the retail shops.

Again, on another hand, you no more have any color matching problems with your attire where you can customize the shoe to match them. Nevertheless, this retail model is definately refreshing and hope to see other brand names start to adopt them.

Hymm… just got a thought.. will this reduce the number of default design shoes in the market and eventually kill the Factory Outlet Business in US?

Apple to Use Intel Chip?

Apple – Intel talks just a herring? by ZDNet‘s David Berlind

Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was in talks with Intel regarding usage of the latter’s microprocessors. Today, Apple relies strictly on PowerPC chips from IBM but has had difficulty keeping pace with Intel-based competitors, particularly on the notebook front where the company has complained that IBM can’t deliver a decent [...]

I for one would like to see this happen, especially the opening of the cloning doors….. a more affordable apple will rival microsoft.
